Since early 2022, frayintermedia has been actively involved in organising logistics and co-managing a community media project in partnership with the Association of Independent Publishers (AIP). This initiative, the AIP-Ohio University Programme, has received support from a grant provided by the US Embassy. A significant aspect of the project involved a three-week study visit to Ohio University, USA, where 10 selected publishers engaged in discussions with their US counterparts. The focus was on finding ways to enhance the sustainability of their businesses and community media efforts in South Africa. Following this visit, the AIP-Ohio University Programme conducted four provincial workshops to share the lessons learned from the US experience. frayintermedia contributed to these workshops by providing training support, specifically focusing on low-cost tools and artificial intelligence.
